Didn't see any sound deadening inside the systainer. Seems like that would be a good idea to help cut down on the vibration and noise.

Interesting - wonder how this stacks up to supposedly-around-the-corner Cadex products in terms of specs.  Definitely a little cheaper on first glance and from a reputable compressor company.

I might have to get myself a leetle birthday present.  [tongue]

Well, first of all, the Rolair exists and we have one.  [tongue]

Here are the specs for the smaller of the two units that Cadex had planned.

- 1.9 CFM at 90 PSI
- 0.5-gallon tank capacity
- Maximum 139 PSI
- Systainer SYS 3
- Weighs 29 lbs.

The larger Cadex unit had these specs:

- 3.8 CFM at 90 PSI
- 1.5-gallon tank capacity
- Maximum 139 PSI
- Systainer SYS 4
- Weight: 31.5lbs

I'm guessing that cannot be done for fire hazard reasons.

Not to  [dead horse] but...................

The Cadex exists too.  Cadex Jamie said he had one in his hot little hands a year, or was it two ago ?  It was available for pre-order too.  And is still vapor ware.  :-[

Shane - what are the chances of you actually receiving Rolair stock in Q1/2018 ?  Or is this just glass half full sales bravado from Rolair ?

[member=727]antss[/member], I know that you are sometimes the skeptic and there's nothing wrong with that, especially with what happened didn't happen with the Cadex Systainer Compressor. Stuff happens and I don't know what gremlins have prevented Cadex from making theirs happen yet. I have openly shared all of the updates I have received from them. Last I heard, we would see it in September 2017, it was supposed to originally launch in March 2017. Obviously, it's been delayed again for unknown reasons.

Rolair sent us a real life working production unit which is shown in the video I posted. So, it's legit and presumably in the process of being produced in quantity in preparation for its launch. I can only share the information provided by each manufacturer. To my knowledge, Rolair has not overpromised on any of its other product introductions to date.

So airflow specs comparable to the smaller Cadex (which was $499 I think?) and capacity and size of the larger Cadex (599?).

Shane, is the pre-order price lower than what these will be priced at once there is a steady supply?  I’d prefer to wait until April and until these are actually shipping...

weird how the rolair supposedly has db rating of 70db while the schneider has 89db rating. What's changed/different?

[member=13462]live4ever[/member], this is not an introductory price.

The Cadex units were $499 and $639.

Great concept!  I'm concerned that it has a rated 70 dBA noise spec while the Rolair JC10 Plus has a 60 dBA rating.  I have to wonder why a housed compressor is that much louder.  The JC10 Plus seem to have better specs, yet the Airstak weighs 28# vs. 45# for the JC10 Plus.  I'd really like to see a side-by-side comparison to see why (if) the Airstak is really worth twice the price of the JC10 Plus.  OK, it's great to see a compressor built into a Systainer, but REALLY???  Twice the price???  [eek]  egmiii's comment about rockwool as a sound deadener is on target.  Roxul is a great product and Rockboard at an appropriate thickness might be just the thing, assuming there's room enough to slide slabs of it into the Systainer.

+1 on everything you said.  Is the older JC10 also rated at 60db, or was it rated a tad louder?  10db over that is significantly louder.  Either way if a little end-user installed rockwool could dampen this thing down to ~65ish, that would be a pretty significant improvement.

Where's the Schneider Systainer assembled?  I think the cheapest US assembled Rolair is about $370 and quickly gets to the thousand dollar range from there.

Roxul is awesome.  Does the rockboard shed like the AFB or rigid fiberglass?
