I bought one of the OF2000 routers from McFeelys and it comes in a cardboard box rather than the plastic systainer -- can I order a systainer for this router that has the fitted internal liner for this router? What part numbers would I order? thanks

Jeff

You can order a Classic Systainer SYS 4 from any of our dealers who have them in stock still. The insert can be ordered directly from our service department, their number is below in my signature. The part number is 446867.

Will the insert fit in the new T-loc #4 box as well as the older classic style box?

Hmmm....  I do see that Festool lists part number 700878 - Bedding Sys ZS-OF 2200 in their EKAT system.  This is listed as one of the T-Loc parts, so it may be what you are looking for.

He is looking for the 2000 insert not 2200.

The 2000 is quite tall I am  pretty sure it will need a Sys-V not IV.  Easily found out by measuring.

Sorry, I missed the follow up question. I can't say for sure whether it would fit in a T-LOC or not. It probably would, but with some modification. The inside of the T-LOC is slightly different.

SYS IV, the of2000 lays on its' side in the Systanier.

Hi there festool representative-
I can buy the classic systainer for exactly the same price as the new T loc systainer- i would prefer the new T loc at the same price- so does the insert for the of2000 router fit the new T loc bix or not?

I would think festool would make the interior the same to avoid obsoleting all the inserts already available-
But maybe they want to make all the old inserts unusable.

Please verufy if the insert fits the t loc box or not.

Thanks

The T-loc interior shape is definitely and visibly different.  The front has an indented area that is much deeper than the Classic Systainers.

Given that the OF2000 was discontinued several years ago, it is certain there is no T-loc specific insert.
But, anything can fit given some scissors and creative and careful cutting and gluing.  Most inserts run approximately $10.  So it's a low-risk and low cost endeavor to try to make it fit.

As Shane and Junkie already mentioned the old classic style inserts won't fit in the new T-Loc without some cutting and that doesn't guarantee it will work out.  Another thing to be concerned about is router itself not getting in the way of the lid closing on the T-Loc.  If you aren't willing to take a chance go with the classic Systainer since it's a sure fit.

Trouble is Festool doesn't (necessarily) know what old inserts fit in the new T-Loc since you need to cut up the insert to make it fit.  It's not reasonable to expect them to cut up a bunch of old inserts to find out....

If you do decide to roll the dice and try the insert in the T-Loc please report your findings in this thread, Nip/Tuck: New T-Loc, old inserts.  This is a thread I started to post what fits and what dosen't in the new T-Locs.  Good luck.
