I currently have a T12+3 set with depth stop chuck in a Classic sys2 with attic. I just picked up a TI15 in a Tloc sys1.

I would like to try to consolidate at get everything in one systainer, so a few questions...

Is the foam insert sold with the TI15 basic set available separately? It looks like this insert will fit three batteries, is this correct? Is there enough room to swap out the standard lid on the sys3 and add one with an attic to fit over the insert? Does the insert have space to fit the depth stop chuck?

Has anyone made up their own insert to hold both? I would love to fit it all into a sys2 and also get all four batteries in, but I'm not sure if it is possible.

Thanks

I think Shane mentioned the insert is available.  It does have space for the depth stop chuck and three batteries, one in each tool and a slot for one extra.  Here are a few pics of the insert.  You'll be the test case to see in the attic lid fits or not.

It appears from Brice's picture that nothing sticks up higher than the Systainer sides. So an attic should fit.

Does the third battery stand on end  at the right edge?

I believe the battery sits in the slot at the top left, at least that's what it looks like in some of the other pictures I have seen.

Thanks for the additional pictures Brice, it helps to see all of the chucks in their spots.

Do dealers have access to the insert or should I just call Festool directly?

Top left is where the extra battery fits, where I have the cord for the charger.

I'm pretty sure the insert is considered a "spare part" so dealers won't stock it.  For spare parts Festool sells direct to end user.  Some dealers will order "spare parts" items for you.  I'll add this, I don't think spare parts are sold wholesale to dealers so they lose their time for no compensation ordering on your behalf.  I'd suggest you make it worth their while if you go that route.

The insert for the TI 15 Basic SYS 3 systainer has number 703202.

The same go's for the SYS 3 insert for the T18 screwdriver and PS420 jigsaw compact assembly kit.
This one has number 703317.

Both numbers are not yet present in the EKAT catalogue.

The empty systainers with the insert for both sets are not sold separately.

At least that's what my German dealer has told me a few months ago.

Thanks for the numbers.

I have an empty Tloc sys3 right now so the insert would be all I need. And the attic lid if I decide to try it. [wink]

I'm a little confused by neeleman's statement - I want to buy a Systainer 3 with the the insert for the TI 15 i already own so I can add a C15 to it, is the insert not sold as a spare part?

It's simple.
Only the insert is sold separately. You have to add an empty SYS 3 yourself.
The SYS 3 with the insert is only sold including the machine and is called TI 15 Basic.

I finally got time to make this happen. I decided to make my own insert with foam so I could add space for a few boxes with bits and fit a fourth battery.

Update [smile]

I finally picked up a sys 2 with an attic and swapped the lid on to this systainer. It fits perfect!

Does anyone know if the insert from the Ti15 Basic will fit in a Tanos Sys-3?

The Tanos and Festool systainers are identical except for color and the embossed branding on the lid.

I couldn't find them when I did an internet search but my local dealer ordered one for me and it came in a few days.  Like $15 US
