Hi,
It can be a bit of a puzzle as to what goes were in a systainer. I have figured out most of the locations for the TS 55 , and OF 1400. Perhaps others know, or can test,  what items go in the remaining slots?
I have here some pics of the TS55 , and OF1400 inserts. I took the shots in layers of were things fit in them.

Pic A -  Saw blades, space for two rail connectors on edge (only one in photo), Splinter Guard, knob for guard, Limit stop ( on left edge), pair of clamps.

Pic B - adds in the Parallel Stop.

TS55 unkown - three inch long slot on left edge.   There seems to be an additional thin layer that would be just below the saw  base plate as well as the larger "hole"  on right center. My best guess for this is the Angle UNit  folded and upside down with the knob in the hole. Anyone owning an Angle Unit want to try the fit?

Pic C -  Guide rods, wrench, collets in right hand holes, templet guide rings, guide rail connector.

Pic D - Adds in small knob from outrigger, edge guide dust hood and regular dust hood.

Pic E - The edge guide.

     Pic F - Chip catcher.

     Pic G - The router.

So what goes in the right hand compartment under the edge guide?  And what goes in the front center slot (maybe the outrigger, but it is not a match to th space)?

Put the dust chute in the hole you speak of...
(hint: only fits one way)

Mirko

PS...you will now have a free hole, for only God knows what for :-\

Seth,

The dust chute I was referring was for the 1400 router, the one that snaps into the base with the green switch.

Right, I"ve already got that in the hole in the router insert. :)

Thanks, Seth.  I certainly did not know what all those extra nooks and crannies in the TS 55 Systainer were for.  Now I know where else I can stash a few clamps.

Re the router insert - has anyone figured out where Festool planned to store the Guide Stop with Fine Adjuster Item # 492601?

I have not been able to find a specific spot for it in the insert. Other than just dumping it in.

Hi, Mirko

Does the TS55 come with a dust chute? Mine did not. My ATF55 had a dust chute.

Seth

Seth,
The TS55 did not come with a dust chute, its built in.

I checked on the angle unit, it doesn't fit into those slots.  It will fit pretty well, dropped in toward the front edge, with the knob next to the TS55's depth gauge.

Hi Seth
The fs2 guide rail limit stop fits in the right center hole in the TS55 insert.

How many blades do you store in the T55 systainer?  What do yo put in between them?

Right now I only have two blades. So only one needs to go in. But I think two would go maybe more. I would probably put some card stock or such  between them.  If I remember I will see how many will fit.

I am picturing the Angle Unit folded shut so that both legs are parallel to each other.  Flipped with the knob down in that hole on the right center. And the Angle Unit flat across on the ledge just below the saw base ledge.  Is that what you tried?

The one with lever type FS FB (#485 827)?    The flat one with the knob type FS RSP (#491582) Will go there or in the smaller left side slot.
I am still wondering what goes in the longer left side slot? I flipped through the catalog looking for things that would make sense but didn't find anything.

Seth

Hi,

O.K.  Only one blade will fit if the guide rail connectors are in. Three without.  Probably six or seven with out guide rail connectors or parallel guide.

Yes the stop with the knob fits perfectly in that spot if you rotate it in the right direction.
Tim
If you leave the connectors in and store the rail in a vehicle the set screws (that aren't tightened) vibrate out and apparently get sucked into an other dimension (the one with the missing socks?)never to be seen again. I just had to order 6 more.

The way screws come out of festool stuff drives me crazy.  I moved my MFT the other day and spent an hour looking for a screw--sure I can order new ones but then I have to wait.

Hey Festool, if you're listening, there should be a repair kit available with a  certain size order that has replacement screws.

I keep my pair of extra blades (48 teeth and Rip blade) in their Festool wrappers, and store them vertically between the saw and the front wall of the Systainer.
