So I've dismantled a makita DAB radio and trying to fit it into a systainer along with a old tc3 charger. If possible I'd like to use the charger to charge batteries and simultaneously power the radio but I'm not sure that that will work. So if be happy to sacrifice the charging function and just use the charger to hold batteries to power the radio.
Can anyone help with wiring this up?
The battery has 5 contacts 1 seems to be positive and the other 4 negative.

I've been trying to figure out the same thing. But with a 12v dc radio.

I would think you would need to wire in a dc to ac converter...Nevermind, that's built into the makita radio.

Some pictures might help. But I would plug in a makita battery to the radio and find out what connections supply power/what is ground.

Figuring out the trc3 might be a little harder. Maybe trace where your neutral/hot wires correspond with the battery pack.

I don't really understand enough about ac/dc to give you a clear cut answer. Hopefully someone does.

I dismantled the radio but realised that it wouldn't really work so I put it all back onto the front section and cut both ends to make it fit in the systainer. I removed the insides of the charger and wired the battery to the radio and it worked.

I have an idea about how to wire it to get charger working when plugged into mains but I need further advice.

If I can get it charging I'll put it in a sys3 because I'll need the height but if not I'll reduce the size of the charger casing and use a sys2.

Further updates to follow....

Ok so I've not got anywhere regards to wiring in the charger to charge and power radio simultaneously so for now I've removed the insides of the charger and it's simply there to hold the battery.

I had to cut the front of the radio down to fit in the systainer. Maybe better done on a bandsaw. I used my Kapex  :o
The ariel unscrews for storage not ideal but it'll have to do.

Have you checked out Jonny Round Boy's thread on a Radio in a Syatainer, I think he cannibalised a cheap DAB radio for this project.
