T-Loc Systainer Catalog Now Available Online

Hi Jonny,

Well spotted - I hadn't even looked that closely myself - so giddy at having one that I hadn't thought ahead to my second one and how they would 'embrace' each other...

Another couple of photos to confirm your suspicions...

The 'Foot Hook'...

And the 'Lid Lip'...

All the best,

Alan

Bummer!  [sad]

I didn't read anywhere in the catalogue that the auxilary handle is only for use with a sys1 and sys2 , but I took a closer look at the photo of a sys3, and I see that the "card slots" into which the handle fits are off-centre.

Richard, Thanks for the warning.

So will all new tools in the "USA" come with these cases once the original run out? Is it  positive this will happen?

Festoholic, thanks for posting the pictures.  It appears that the tool labels are stickers and not a card, is that correct?

Hi Brice,

My pleasure. There are three stickers on the T-LOC when it arrives - two in front (where the auxiliary handle can be placed), and one on the right side.

On the left side, there is a 'pocket' for a card.

This is just a card-sized piece of plastic that slides down into the slot. You can then place your card inside this. It's relatively loose - it popped out when I was taking the photo, but it stays in place when the lid is down.

I haven't checked the US and UK websites, but on the German site (www.festool.de), there are PDF templates for making your own cards on the webpage of each tool. For example, on the T 18+3 site, just below the image of the drill, on the left hand side, there is a file called 'T 18+3 Etikett'. The template has an image of the tool on the right, and you can enter your details on the left (and insert a logo if you wish).

I'll start that thread on the T 18 soon...  [smile]

I'm kind of concerned about the plan for all new tools to be put to market in the new T-locs.  I personally don't mind the (newly named) "classic".  (let's hope things don't go the way of "New Coke"!).
But I now have a triple pile of Festool and Systainers.  I like and appreciate that I can stack them and arrange them in *any* way I need, or just as the result of chaotic cleanup.  I don't necessarily welcome the concept that I *must* put the RO90 (future purchase!) at the top of a stack, since it cannot go in the middle, below a SysClassic.

Although I think the T-loc is pretty OK cool (especially the top and front handle), I would prefer the option of choosing a SysClassic, vs a T-loc, for a tool purchase.
I don't find the new labeling accomodation of interest, since I've already sunk a bit of time into creating new labels for the Systainers.  Since I have two hands it doesn't take much longer or more effort to undo two latches, versus one handle (since I can do both latches at the same time!).

Anyway, just my  [2cents]

Well, who knows. Except for some cheap (compared to sugar with tariffs), disgusting, fat-making sugar substitute (high-fructose corn syrup) it's also possible to make plastic from corn. Now: Solid corn systainers, haha.
Btw: Coca Cola uses regular sugar in Europe. Corn lobby here didn't buy the legislature yet.  [cool]

The biggest problem I see with the new systainers is: how strong are they? It seems to that two solid locks on the two front corners give a stonger result than one rotating 'thing' that locks on one, smaller, notch.
But seeing that Festool puts it's name on it I guess it will be fine. And if it isn't: their customer service is great.

For an overview of the PDF's with the labels, look at this great page:

http://www.festool.nl/Actie/T-LOC_SYSTAINER/Pages/T-LOC_systainer_labels.aspx
I don't know where the magic '4' behind every link came from either, but we don't have a T12+34

And for the printer settings: disable the scaling that's enabled on default in Adobe Reader.
Here the Festool page on the printer settings:

Partly Dutch, partly German, partly English.  [laughing]

Man Junkie, you must really be jonesing for the RO90... [blink]

I am totally jonesing for it..  [drooling].

I have two medium/big projects that it would be *perfect* for.  And by perfect I mean it would save me a ton of time and effort.  I could use my RO125 but it's slightly too big and weighs more.. and the smaller head on the RO90 work a lot better (it's siding and not entirely flat).
Also, I am foregoing a Deltex to wait for the RO90.

When I got to put hands on one here, I really immediately thought it is a DIY sweet spot.  Lots of uses, not too big, plenty powerful, lots of flexible uses.

Sadly, the two projects above probably need to happen before winter, so I'm going to have to put in the extra time and effort.  [sad]

How much smaller is the internal size of the T-lock  compared to the classic?!  It must be atleast 25mm smaller in width because of the indent of the Tlock.

Does anyone have any info or pictures on how and where the T-loc front handle attaches?

I'm thinking of getting a T-loc to house some stuff I carry inside a pair of Minis.  The Suitcase-style orientation would be nicer.

Posed to Franck and other Systainer gurus:  Any plans out there in the works for a T-loc keyed lock of any sort?

I believe that the front handle slides into the area that the cards would normally go in. There was a video showing this somewhere on the forum but I couldn't find it.

Sort of found and answered my own question.

Went through the entire T-loc catalog, linked at the start of this thread:
http://www.systainerworld.com/Tanos_systainer_T_Loc_Catalog_s/60.htm

Page 5 shows a decent photo of the suitcase configuration.

Page 25 shows the options front handle (apparently $16.99).  Based on what I see there and on page 5 it appears to slip into place where the front labels are located, probably in some sort of dovetailed slot.  Hrrrm..
Here is what it says:  "Please note: adapter plates have to be inserted into the plug-in slots".

Also of interest on page 25:  A beefier version of the Systainer upright dolly.
Looks to have rubber or urethane wheels..maybe 5".  150kg capacity.  Folds up.

As far as I can tell, that upright dolly is manufactured specifically for maxi systainers, nothing else.  Obviously with a maxi as a foundational base, you'll be able to carry other systainers on top.

There may not be.  I'd like to see it.  Judging previous sales of the classic systainer lock, I wouldn't be surprised if they hold off on bringing a lock to market for the T-Loc's.

Finishing up customs paperwork today for the first shipment of T-Loc's into the US.  Hoping to have'em in 2 weeks time.

Bought a new Rotex 150 today from my dealer and it was in the new T-Loc Sytainer. I have followed the discussion over the last weeks here and have to say its great.

I like it [thumbs up]

I like the image on the inside cover that show the placement of all the parts of the tool and how the fit in side the Systainer.
