T-Loc's now on US soil and shipping

Brice, as far as I know, dealers who have ordered them will receive all empty Festool T-Loc sizes for the March 1st launch, including 4's and 5's.

Sean, those aren't my rules, those are Germany's rules and I have to follow them too.

Great news Sean, but what about different color T-Loc Systainers, are they on that Jet Ski?

Cheers

Paul

Paul, you'd be shocked, but with the Red and Yellow classic style systainers we've had in stock for over a year now, there's been little demand.

Only T-Loc colors inbound are the white w/ blue loc and the anthracite.

So am I the only one that has bought the red ones?

What about the different color latches, will you have them?

Cheers

No plan for it yet, but I can get them quickly enough if demand proves to be out there.

I'd like to throw on a Festool green latch on an anthracite T-Loc for some Festool accessories....

Sean,

If you had green systainers & yellow handles & latches, John Deere people would be all over those.

Thats what I was thinking.

In Kreg's video he showed the new T-Loc systainers locking together.  What has me puzzled is that he only rotated the T-latch to lock them.  So the T-latch has the front part locked together.  What keeps the back of the systainers together?

Kodi, have you just comeout of hibernation? [scared]

[big grin]

The T-Loc only uses the front latch - the rear is held in place by an L-shaped tongue on the underside, which sits under a rebate in the top when they're stacked. Then the T-Loc holds the front. Only one catch is needed.

When i have a stack of systainers(classic) say 4 and i want to access one lower in the stack i have to remove all the systainers above.

So how many T-Loc systainers can be practically  "tipped over" when opening one in the stack?

i see this(opening one in a stack)as a bonus but how much of benefit?

Good question!

Also, I can forsee the situation where you have the systainer with the screwboxes in at the bottom of a stack. You turn the latch so you can tip the stack backwards to get a screw out. Then you tip the stack upright again, but forget to turn the latch back. Then later, you grab the handle at the top & lift the entire stack, scattering all your screws across the floor... [scared]

I like the systainer screwboxes because it's almost impossible to have this kind of accident (which is common with most other types of screwbox). Now it seems it's possible again...

Also i would think the "footprint" of a tipped stack would make working in a tight area problematic? [huh]

I guess the systainers aren't really my thing.  I haven't followed the T-loc conversations.  Thanks for explaining how it works though.

I wish Chris, I wish...

That is true, i have them stacked about 6-7 high (mostly sys2s and 3s) but can get to the bottom ones without releasing everything on top of it.  I have them on a tanos cart and back them up to a wall, so if I want something from a bottom systainer (or if the lid needs to open all the way to get out something large) I have to wheel the stack out a few inches to accommodate the tipped stack. Still a whole lot more convenient than moving all 3-4 systainers every time I need to get to the middle.

As for remembering to lock the t-loc every time, I have had to make a conscious effort so that I don't accidentally open it.  Comes pretty easy after a day or so, but getting my partner to also do so is worse than getting my 5 year old to turn off a light when he leaves the room!

Mike makes a really good point here.  Yes, you do have to wheel the stack out from the wall (a systainer cart helps), but hey, it's still infinitely easier and more convenient than taking off 6 systainers and undoing 24 latches to get them off.'

For those of you that don't have T-Locs yet....you're going to be blown away by the ease of the latch.  It's truly a treat and you'll be balking at your older latches.  I can't believe that the older style latches on the classic systainer were ever reasonable or acceptable in my eyes, after using the new T-Loc.
