Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a couple of T Tracks for some jigs I have in mind, trouble is, the only sites i've seen are extortionate prices, can anyone point me in the direction of some good value ones?

Many thanks,

~WW

The cheapest T track is the one that you make yourself. There was a thread recently of a saw bench the a foger made. He slit 20mm (I think) square aluminium tubing to make his own T track and it worked very well. I can't find the thread so I can't give you a link.

Got mine from rutlands think its was £24 for 4 lengths about 1000m

(Don't know how to post a link)

Don't think that's too bad

I bought a set of T-Tracks from Rutlands a few months ago, on a special offer I had 4 lengths for around £25, bargain.

When I got onto their site now, it shows you can get;

1 no. 1/2" , 48" long T Track for £24.95

or

4 no. 1/2", 48" long T Track for £39.95

Obviously the 4 piece set is a much better deal, but neither or the options seem to be in stock.. Ever!  [blink]

I bought a set of 4 T-Tracks from Rutlands back last year, which works out fairly reasonable.
The price for 1 is ridiculous.
Other places to try are Axminster, CW Tyzack on Ebay or The Woodworkers Workshop (Peter Sefton) for the Incra T-Track.

I think it was JHT (John H. Tyzak) I used to buy plaster/concrete trowels from back before I was even 38.  I bought my brick trowels JTS. (I am not totally sure if I got the initials correct for either of the trowel manufacturers. I wasn't even 29 when I first found them.  the name "Tyzak" is correct. Are those guys still making mason tools?) The plaster trowels held up better than any thing else I found.  The JHS brick trowels i found increased my production by 10% to 15% over any other trowels i used.  They had a narrower heal and a very short snath.

The CW Tyzack I mentioned is a long established tool supply business in London:

I don't know if they are related? But Tyzack was a well known name with regard to tool manufacture in the past, they made decent saws and other hand tools back in the day I believe.
Not sure about the Trowels, sorry.
But here's a bit of info I just found about William Tyzack and his business:
