Hi guys I just brought a te55req today using it for the first time with the extractor

Saw seems very noisy (rattley) is this normal also when using both extra or or mains the saw seems to cut out mid cut saw is upto 6 but still dies any ideas as this is my first saw and I'm not very happy with it right now

The noise is normal.

See page 15 of the TS55 Supplemental Manual.

What kind of wood are you cutting?  Which blade are you using?  How deep?  With the grain or across the grain?

Hi doug it is only mdf 18mm thick MFB with a plastic veneer one side just seems really odd

The noise does seem to be normal reading that

The saw does "growl" when operating. That's just the sound of the motor. However, if I understood correctly, that the motor is cutting out during the cut, that, of course, isn't normal.

Yeah it cuts out 3-4 times on a 8ft run it's a brand new saw I've only done 5 test cuts about 25mm wide 18mm deep it's frustrating as this package cost me a fortune

When you say the saw "cuts out".  Are you tripping a breaker?

If you're on a 15 amp breaker make sure nothing else big is running on the same line.  Like a space heater for example.

I have my CT26/TS55 on a 15 amp breaker and sometimes I forget my space heater is on.  It takes 10 seconds for me to get

the reminder that the heater is on.  [unsure]

  The 'growl' is normal for a T.S.
Not clear on the initial post - are you on 110v or 230v?

Hi guys the saw seems to just loose power it doesn't trip a fuse and if I remove saw from workpiece and start it up it works fine

It's like it can't cut the material (18mm mdf) and a safety feature kicks in

Are both the piece you are saving and the off cut side supported? If not, is it possible that the blade is getting "pinched" by the MDF?  I've cut 3/4 MDF before and also 3/4" hardwood on a lot of occasions with no problems always with the blade that was installed on the saw at purchase; maybe not in an 8 ft distance though. I assume that it would be the same blade there as in the US; 48 tooth I think.

How long is the extention it is on and what tranny if using 1.

What gauge wire is the extension (assume you mean extension cord)? I know that in the US I would not use an extension that long, almost 50' (right) unless it was a heavy gauge. I've been taught over the years and have read that extensions should be as short as possible and, when longer, even as long as 25 feet, should be heavy gauge wire. I don't know how wire is measured outside the US, but I always buy 12 gauge extensions for even 15 feet.  I recently needed a 6 foot long extension from the wall outlet so the cord would lay on the floor and made it out of 10 gauge (overkill I know) I don't know if that is the problem. Not being an electrician, I hope I'm right when I say that \ I think the voltage drop over that long of an extension would be significant and possibly a problem unless the cord was 12 gauge or better.

Hi guys I've been using saw in workshop today and found that if I use saw it's fine even with extension lead cuts board fine with no stalling

issue arises when using extractor even if it is plugged in separately and on manual power and into a 2nd transformer it still cuts out
Also I don't know if this is relevant but I seem to get a lot more static shocks when both are plugged in

I use a 3kva but usually turn the speed down to 5 and suction somewhere between half and three quarters.

I've never used a 5kva tranny. I'd need a forklift to get it in and out of the van.  [tongue]
