Hi, I found some links to this drill press that seems to have been in development a few years waiting for a full launch. They are for sale now but I can find very little info on these online. Does anyone have one and have some experience with it? It might not be for me but I am intrigued by some of the features.

Typically when a drill press is offered for sale the swing is the first specification listed.
I can't find it anywhere.

From the scale of the column it looks like the swing is 14 to 15".

Does look like a good design. True variable speed would be very nice.

18" swing...

Listed under the second set of photos.

Does look sharp!

Cheers. Bryan.

Quite interesting...items that caught my eye are:

50-5500rpm variable speed, brushless direct drive, 1.75 HP motor
Intelligent Speed Selection to get the correct speed for the application
Slow Start Pilot Hole Function
Tapping Assist Function
Electronic Braking
Load Readout
Self Starting
Digital Quill Depth Readout
Forward/Reverse

If the Nova isn't good enough, try this Ellis with VFD.

Actually the Nova bests it in a couple of specs, at half the price.

That's cool, Michael. I've looked at that Ellis. It is a beast but it has really great features and seems to get really great reviews. That's my main concern with the Teknatool drill. The lack of reviews and user feedback. It seems to have been out there a while but they are now finally ready to launch the final product. I guess that is what you will have to deal with gettin in early. But how will it hold up? Too much smart technology that will get in the way and be outdated soon? All Chinese made. So is the Ellis?

Their lathe's seem to be around everywhere. What's the verdict on Teknatool quality in those tools?

Obviously, I'm in the market for a drill press here.  Although, I'm kinda lusting for something more robust - like a geared head drill press.
