I have been eying the system a bit lately. Nothing infuriates me more on the job more than running out of air. Whether it's stapling walls/roofs or nailing sub floor when the guns are low and not sinking nails or misfiring, drives me bozo!
But at $1300 new and $500 for 1 framing gun, that's a lot of cheddar!  I like the idea of only having 1 compressor, getting rid of 2-3 misc ones.
Does anyone have one?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks ,
Tom

Are you referring to this one http://www.amazon.com/Max-AKHL1050E-3-Gallon-Pressure-Compressor/dp/B00023S9X0/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1314088909&sr=1-1
this is the older model, but they have some used ones at half the $1300 for the original price. Here is a link to the newer model http://www.amazon.com/Max-AKHL1230E-MAX-500-Compressor/dp/B004XDLNRE
I do not have either of these, but I think I will get the newer model soon. Ive read all I could find about it. It sounds like a nice compressor. I spent months researching roofing nailers, and it came down to the Hitachi, or Max nailers. I wasn't concerned with price, I just wanted the best gun. I ended up with the Max, and it has been a great gun. That is what got me looking into the compressor too. I did read where it needs to be sent back to them every 1000 hours to be rebuilt. I don't know if you would consider that bad or not, but I wouldn't have a problem with it. A little preventive maintenance never hurt.

Yes Robert the one in your first link is the one that I was looking at.
I currently have Paslode 350, while it's new it's fine but as they get older they have more and more misfires.
I really thought someone here would have one. [sad]

THe units you are looking at are so expensive because their intended primary use is for concrete work.  They are 500 psi compressors with ( I believe) the capability of running 100 psi guns (2 different sets of output ports).  You don't need to spend this type of money unless you are in fact doing construction / concrete work.

What sort of concrete work?  Spraying with a hopper?

Fastening. You can nail a board to concrete with this.
