Tenryu Miter pro plus blade

Now that I've had a chance to give this blade a work out, I'm really impressed. I trimmed out a kitchen, with maple, including a 4 1/4" crown and had great results. Today I cross cut 3/4" x 11 1/4" birch ply for an upper cabinet carcass and was really impressed. Literally no tearout on either side of the plywood.( I'm using a zero clearance insert and fence) . The face of the cut is where I would expect it, especially on a slide cut.  With my old scms and Freud blade I would do a scoring, pull cut to avoid tear out on the face of a cut. Though, a lot of the credit has to go to the Kapex, too. What a great combo.

Yep I agree mine cuts perfect I don't use my Festool blades in my  Kapex saw anymore.

Is there only one blade for the kapex from tenryu? Have you used it to cut laminate edging for countertops I find the festool blades chip the plastic lamibate while cutting.

Have you tried Festools laminate blade. Not sure if Tenryu make a laminate blade for Festool.

They do make a couple diff blades for the kapex.  I think the miter pro 80T would probably work best on  laminate.  It's an awesome blade

Tenyru makes at least 2 different blades for the Kapex.  I purchased several 72 tooth blades and an 80 tooth at the IWF.  Both of these blades are made at the Tenyru factory in China if that matters.  With the show discount, the price of the 72 tooth blade was about 1/3 the cost of the Festool blades and given my intent to trash them cutting strand woven bamboo flooring, it seemed like a good choice.  The 80 tooth blade is an experiment based on good reports on this blade and I have not used it yet.  I tried the 72 tooth blade cutting into strand woven bamboo flooring just this morning.  The blade cut just fine but, wasn't as smooth as the Festool 60 tooth blade and I could see tooth marks on the cut edge.  The cause could have been the material which is extremely tough (3300 Janka).

Materials with single sided laminate can be cut well with a TCG blade.  H-ATB is the best for clean cuts both sides in laminates and melamine. You can find H-ATB with a 30mm bore but they are designed for Altendorf, Felder, Martin saws (pin holes). Not sure if they would work in a Kapex. You can have a sharpener re bore a 5/8" hole.  I own the FS Tool SM6251 for a 10" saw with a 5/8" bore and the LM6301 for a 12" saw with a 1" bore. They are great. I use them on prefinished plywood also.
