I'm willing to bet that no one in Germany thought I would be using one of my Festools tools for carving.

I was roughing out this block of black cork to make a decoy. As I understand it, the primary use for this type of cork was to insulate large refrigerators. If you have every worked with it, this was my first time, it is nasty stuff. It crumbles when you look at it funny and makes a horrible dusty mess.

Well after cutting out the blank on the bandsaw and roughing it out with a drawknife and knife, I came up w/the bright idea to stick a 50 grit pad to my ES 125 to see if I could finish roughing out the blank using the sander and hopefully stop large chunks of cork from falling out. It worked!

I vacuumed before I started so what you see on the Workmate and floor is ALL of the dust that escaped collection! I'm impressed!

Enjoy.
