Is the motor on the new C-12 and C-15 set at more angle than the old C-12? I have only seen pictures ,and have seen some pictures that look angled  and some that look straight.

The sweep on the old and new appears to be pretty much identical. The new drills are slightly more rounded on top and also about a 1/4" or so shorter.

Sorry for the super crappy photo, but you get the idea. The old model is in front, new in back.

Shane, is that the super fancy new camera you were telling me about?  [tongue] ;)

Feel free to post a better photo. Oh... wait a minute... you don't have the new drills.  [poke] And, it seems that your order for them just got placed on hold indefinitely due to some anomaly in our system.  [popcorn]

But oh, I've got drills you don't have (imagine a smilie poking a smilie with a much bigger stick here).  And that preorder is soooooooo approved. [eek]

Oh, but I DO have those drills too. Welp, it's 5pm, time to go home and cut some stuff on my CMS. Then assemble it on my Vac-Sys using the Domino XL.

Oh Shane, that's so cold...

That's a classic way to be sarcastic.  I love it!!!!! HA!!!

Ah, Sean and I are buddies. It's all in jest. My apologies to the OP for hijacking the thread with our fun banter.

Edit: I better stop before Peter or Seth ban me. [ban]

Will I have to keep them in a sweater for the winter?

I know how Lithium Ion feels about the cold weather.

Darcy, I know that you've wanted the answer to that question and even asked it when you were on the phone with Rick today. I don't have the answer really. I got specs at some point and posted them here or on talkFestool (I don't remember which) for the suggested temperature ranges for the batteries (or maybe I didn't  [huh]). The best thing to do would be to hit up some of the guys on the forum who have the T-drills to see how their batteries have performed in the cold weather.

I heard you in the back ground...... [big grin]

I think all the talk of having to replace one of my C-12 battery's, may have scared it straight.

Seemed to act like my other one when it was off the charger the last time today.

I may have got that battery wet, or something else slightly detrimental to its health.

I know it is the nature of L-ion battery's to not like the real cold weather but, I hate having to bring tools inside at night and make them a nice warm bed.

Maybe I'll throw one in the fridge tomorrow for a few hours and see what happens... About the best I can offer.

I can tell you they don't the cold much.  They work fairly well in moderate temps but when it you gets much below freezing the performance drops off pretty quick.  If you keep them from getting too cold and keep working they'll be fine.  If you leave them in the truck over night in the winter you'll likely be disappointed in the morning.  Throw them on the charger to warm them up and keep the battery inside or in your pocket if you're not going to use it for an extended amount of time.

That is the part that I am not sure about.  It seems there is only a certain number of charge cycles a battery can endure and just popping it on the charger to warm it up seems to count as a charge cycle to me.

Getting the job done and getting paid is a good enough reason to give up some charge cycles.

Well, I was out at 5 as well, riding and enjoying myself on UL approved equipment ;)  and enjoying some tasty Victory and Stone IPA's after the ride!  Good 'nuff reason for a tardy response, yeah?
