I love my MM and haven't seen a need to try out the Super Cut models yet, but you never know.

I've thought about buying a detail sander. It appears to me that buying a Fein would be a better option than the Festool Detail Sander since the Festool sander is just that; a sander. The Fein, on the other hand, is many tools in one and it's about the same price as a full kit that the Festool would be just as a sander with a triangular head. Is that wrong?

If you want a tool that does it all, the Fein is a better option than a Festool detail sander. Of course, for sanding, the Fein is total and utter crap compared to a Festool sander. But for cutting and sawing it is great and for certain tasks the only thing that can do it. Now that I've gotten used to a MultiMaster, I wouldn't want to be without one.

I think you should consider a Festool sander if you want to do sanding, and a Fein MM of you want to cut through wood. No middle of the road here, even thought the Fein comes with a sanding pad. I'm sure you could attach a towel to the Fein in some way, but that doesn't mean it's suddenly great for doing the dishes.
 
By the way, I simply got both. I don't like dilemmas.  [tongue]

With the DX 93 being discontinued here in the states, you have the Ro 90 for detail sanding from Festool, and have much better dust collection than what Fein offers with the MM.
I don't think DC adaption is even offered on the larger Supercut.

I have two corded Multimasters and one cordless.
Guy in Home Depot told me that they have continuous returns on the same tool from Makita, Bosch, .., but never on the Fein.
MM can do sanding (very well), but the pad is small and is good for hard to reach areas only (as corners are). For "sanding" of larger area there are only two sanders on the market :  Festool and Mafell.
I have Ro125 and Fein-MM. Just recently replaced my door jumbs myself and used both sanders. That job alone paid off my Festool and Fein too.

CPO has good deal on MM. $400=MM cordless PLUS drill/hummer cordless (55 Nm Torque) PLUS two batteries PLUS charger PLUS hard case. I got it.  [laughing]

Sounds like there is no question the Fein is a great tool if you want to do multiple types of jobs, but maybe not the best choice if your use is sanding. Then, Festool would be a better choice for both sanding results and dust collection. For now, I'll wait and see whether my future holds a lot of corner sanding or other work also. Thanks for the input, though. It's helpful so I don't end up with the wrong tool for my uses.

Buy a mm and you won't regret it use mine most days for loads inc small sanding, done a job 2 week ago and couldn't have done it if didn't have a mm

If you want only sander. You have two choices
1. Festool ro90 if you have only small areas to work, means no more than 1sq.m
2. Festool ro125 or ro150 and here fein is a must because hand work is not that good. This is for any Sandinista area, small to very large
