The new replacement Plug-It cord...203925

I just swapped out the cord on my CT 22 vac with the latest Festool replacement cord. What a huge difference. With the previous version it was a rather flaky connection, you never could determine if it was a good connection or not because the cord detent was never very well defined. It was soft and unwilling to sometimes engage fully or it seemed like that. 

The latest version provides a very positive detent position. It feels more like the Milwaukee QUIK-LOK® cord. I think it has a lot to do with the spring that's incorporated into the assembly.

Now the cord on the MIDI needs to get swapped out. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  [big grin]

This Plug-It cord update is one of the best updates Festool has ever delivered. The new Kapex...the power cord update...maybe Festool is back on their game. [popcorn]

Sorry Michael...  [embarassed] the sleeved vac hose uses the Plug-It.

It is a lot easier to use than the original version. It produces a nice solid detented position/feel. I decided to try it to prevent any further possible damage as I plug and unplug the various tools into the CT 22. I picked it up from Woodcraft last weekend.

Your USA plugs  connect with a detent? Sounds flimsy.

Amazing how the USA cord still shows a Euro plug on the package. Lazy.

Actually Alex the connection is fairly robust. It’s a heck of a lot better than Festool’s last feeble iteration. I've always hated the original Plug-It version.

This connection has a strong detented action that lets me know that it’s really connected. The previous connection was like trying to mate a solid conductor with fudge. Is it or isn’t it...you never really know for sure so you torque the connection as much as possible to ensure full contact/engagement.

I agree, the labeling is pretty lame. Festool needed to change the label anyways because of the US part number but they were lazy enough to leave the Euro photo of the cord on the packaging. What’s with that?

Replaced the Plug-It cord used on the MIDI yesterday with the new 203925 version. I then used the MIDI with the DF 500 and the ETS EC...what a huge difference. The connection is so easy to make and you immediately know the connection is secure.

Now if Festool only offered an improved version of the on/off switch on the DF 500.  [poke]

There is no Europlug pictured on the packaging. That's a CEE 7/17 plug.

Other than that; the US plug sucks with it's easy-bendable exposed legs and sharp edges....

Although the unearthed outlets here accepting plugs that do have earthing is equally ridiculous...
