The very definition of irony...

So, a few weeks ago I bought a 3hp PCS sawstop, just last weekend I finished putting it together, and today, for the first time I turned it on. I did a few test cuts, and I did some work that I had pending when I sold my old table saw right before I ordered this one.

After I was done working, I went thru my routine shop  shutdown and cleanup, basically unplug all the tools, wrap the power cords, vacuum, wipe down everything. Right before I wheeled the saw to it's "storage place" I decided to give it yet another coat of wax and a quick buff... and well, that's where I went wrong, I neglected to lower the blade all the way down as I usually do, and as I was buffing, I knicked the side of my hand with the blade...

Before anyone starts blasting me for getting comfortable etc, I've always been paranoid about my safety procedures with all my tools. So even I have the added safety, I still use it like I would any other saw. I just found it funny how I've never had an incident, until now that I have the sawstop, and it wasn't even plugged......

I'd get it amputated right away - that hand isn't going to be any good now!

Hahaha that's funny! Been there, done that, got a t shirt......;)
It is ironic with the machine though! Can't wait to get one, I'm stuffing the piggy and it'll be here in no time!

Maybe keep the hand and throw the rest away!

After all it wasn't the hand's mistake ;)

So it would have been safer to have the blade up and the saw running to wax and buff the saw, who knew. [tongue]

It almost makes one wonder if the proceedures make things safer or if equippment can actually make thngs safer?

CRS=Can't Remember Stuff.  Milder version of CRAFT syndrome; Can't Remember A Friggin' Thing.  [tongue]
