Looks like bad taste to me.......maybe my lawn mower could have a spot in the living room.....or how about a hub cap in the entry way to put my keys in.  Seems odd to build custom pedestals for those cabinets to be used as bedside tables.....and who stores that much stuff next to there bed?  Proof that money doesn't buy everything.

Although the dry bar does look good in a modern setting.

When I was in college (the 90s), my then girlfriend was looking for a short supplemental chest of drawers, and we happend to notice that you could get a Craftsman 5 drawer tool cabinet (like this http://www.craftsman.com/craftsman-26inch-wide-5-drawer-ball-bearing-bottom/p-00913620000P?prdNo=6&blockNo=6&blockType=G6) with bearing loaded drawers for the same price as cheap MDF, particle board and fake woodgrain furniture.

Also, it was shiny red.

She never regretted that purchase.

Don't mock, I have a 14 drawer craftsman mechanics roll chest in my living room. Yes, I would prefer it elsewhere.

What about this, I took a waterloo workbench cabinet on clearance 12 years ago and made it into a dresser for my stepson. He is now 23 so I just passed it on to my grandson. Pretty cool.
