Yeah, I bought from Bob Marino back in the day as well and never had an issue...In fact, I've purchased several times from Toolnut with no issues...but I'm pretty sure the box could not have marked up the stuff like this.

Anyone use Beavertools?  Other recommendations?

Be careful if ordering from Beavertools.  Nothing bad about Beavertools at all, just make sure that you are actually getting to their real website.  Numerous times in the last couple of years there have been copycat sites that are scams targeting them.

Peter

Thanks, Peter.

So far, I have the following recommendations:
https://beavertools.com/brands/festool/festool-drills-1.html

and
https://www.toolnirvana.com/pages/about-us

Any others?

Thanks, -mark

Hey Shane.

I’m going to pile in on tool nut too. .
Who were my first port of call for a festool purchase upon moving stateside. Entirely because of you and the positive association that gave me for the Tool Nut.

Well sadly after trying to ask a simple question through the web portal, i was so disappointed with the responses I received: incomplete, minimal, copy pasted (but omitting half the info), and mildly unfriendly vibes.

Anyway I’ve lost interest in dropping a couple $k at Tool Nut.. shame i didn’t get Shane:)

I have had good experiences with Toolnut over the years. They were one of the first to offer Pre-Orders, when new tools were coming out, though others have jumped on the opportunity since.
There was a late/slow shipment one time, but Shane got it handled quickly.
I have made several purchases from them, including Shaper Origin, but I never got a T-shirt, didn't know it was a thing?

I've bought a lot from Toolnut as well as many others over the years and really had no issues.  I'm currently waiting for delivery of a Grabo electric suction cup.  As commercial glazier, I have many glass handling cups, but none are suitable for the slate steps I'm planning to install. the Grabos offer a seal capable of lifting very large loads.

Plus, they have the advantage of cycling to keep it connected. With glass, it's not a problem, but slate might be porous enough for a typical suction cup to lose its grip? The Grabo would just turn itself back on.
Interesting tool/invention. I've never made the leap, since the Geckos suffice, for the few times a year I need them.

It's going to interesting to experiment with, I've seen a few videos of guys with small CNC shops use pairs of Grabos, Unistrut and electric lifts to load and unload their sheet goods.

Good quality sheets, preferably UV.  I've done it on unfinished chinaply and the popping sound was scary.  :P

Shane, glad to know you’re still at Tool Nut. We haven’t heard from you lately.

Hey, Michael. Good to hear from you and see that you're still on here.

Ya, I'm not as active on here as I once was, for sure. I'm coming up on my 10 year anniversary with Tool Nut soon. Hard to believe that it's been that long. It doesn't feel like it's been that long since I was at Festool. But I still have a lot of green in my DNA and still get excited about the brand.  [cool]
