Hi I'm looking for ideas or a direction towards finding ideas for a toy box. I have made one before, was a first attempt and pretty basic nothing special. I've attached a few pics. If anyone could give me an idea of any you guys have done and things you found were useful  id really appreciate it. Thank you

That looks nice. You might Google Greene & Greene blanket chest for some ideas.

Looks nice and very large.  One idea you might consider is partitions or some other organizational consideration.  The little one has a difficult time finding just that one toy he looking for (at the bottom).

Well done, that is a pretty nice first attempt.  I am of the opinion that all toy boxes are special to someone so don't sell yourself short.  I like the lack of pinch points on the lid for those little fingers.  I have also used spring counterbalances so the lid won't fall down inadvertently.  Another feature that is useful are rails for a tray that slides side to side gives better access instead of just piling toys in a box.

When I was around 7 or 8 years old, my father and grandfather joined forces to make my sister and I a toy box in the shape of a railroad box car. It was complete with ladders, wheels and numbers of the railroad stenciled on the side. My sister's grandchildren now have possession of it and it's been around since the mid fifties. A pretty cool hand-me-down...
