I bought a Ford Transit Connect a couple of weeks ago specifically for work.  I'm a high school teacher that does this stuff on the side.  Lately (the last year or so) "on the side" has been full time.  Our 1994 Honda Accord finally started to give up the ghost so that opened the door for the Transit.  I've got to finish up an install this morning and thought I'd take a couple of pics of everything loaded up.  Yes Brice, I know, I'm working on getting the headache rack/partition. ;)

Looks good Russ. Lots of luck.
Now, if only my 09 Audi Q5 would stop giving up the ghost already ;) ;D ???

I'm glad, I'd hate the thought of what that stack of Systainers behind the driver's seat would to do if you needed to stop suddenly or heaven forbid, end up in a wreck. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with your new Ford/Festool van.

I had a 2-ton truck pull right out in front of me when I was going about 45 MPH. I had nowhere to go but oncoming traffic so I t-boned him.

In the trunk of my Maxima, were cartons of glass blocks. It sure was a good thing that they put a bulkhead between the back seat and the trunk! Those boxes were blown apart but the bulkhead held.

I will die from impailments caused by the things my two girls leave in the back seat of my Suburban.

You guys are worry warts. [big grin]

'Ever seen an 18-wheeler hauling pipe that had to stop fast?

Nobody gets out of the tractor. They're in the pipes.

When I lived in Houston, I saw it a couple of times. There used to always be a lot of pipe trucks on the road. They were importing a lot of drill pipe from Japan into the port.

I hope you are enjoying your van as much as I am mine .Just this Saturday I went for the XLT Wagon Version (with the row of seats behind driver ) .
I have not yet done any working out for loading it up ,tool wise. There are some very reasonable prices around for open wire bulk heads .Even ones for behind the rear seat setup .
I like what you have done thus far .

Well like I have said before, just waking up is dangerous.

Using a saw everyday is dangerous.

Eating raw shellfish is dangerous.

Driving is dangerous.

So what you gonna do?

Russell,

I am so thrilled that the systainer labels have spurred your business upward   [poke]

I look forward to seeing how you finish outfitting it.  I had thought about this vehicle, but honestly hope that the larger European models will make their way over here to offer an alternative to the Sprinter.  I looked at the Tanos floor material that is anti-slip when I saw this thread.

Keep posting on your progress!

Minimize your risks, at least that's what I do.

Can u guys not get the Ford Transit? ???

It is bigger than the Connect, shorter than the sprinter but you can still fit in 3m (12 foot) boards/ sheets.

Most UK chippy's use these or similar.

So what do you do with plywood?  Is there a rack on top?  That's what's kept me in my truck.  I really hope they start selling the full transit here or VW brings back the eurovan/transport.

For the rear seat, I've read it's just a few torx bolts to remove, but the seat is heavy.
