Well I got the CMS GE router table.

Like all Festools,  I got them for not only their quality but their portability.

So how do you guys pack / store the CMS GE along with the accessories (extension table, sliding table etc) for transporting?

I have the small parts in a mini sys.

Fold the legs, place on floor of truck, slide the other parts underneath. Leave plate in place.

Tom,

I was looking for some ideas folks had as far as designing boxes etc for storage.

Similar to some I have seen designed for the PGs.

I guess I could make something similar as the PGs boxes Ive seen here.

I thought that someone had already come up with some ideas.

Thanks for replying.

Not sure I'd bother with a box. You could leave the sliding rail in place, Popping the out feed table off takes no time and it fits under the table with the legs folded. The fence nests under the table well. I've moved mine with the router still in it.

I guess yer right I could do it that way. Im just packing my stuff up to be shipped to the UK (whenever that happens). I want to be sure nothing gets damaged. Though the movers are responsible, I dont want to go through the hassel of making a claim etc. Im a firm believer of a once of prevention beats a pound of cure..

i think you are going to have to be a pioneer on this.
i dont like the way the cms has loads of little bits that have nowhere on board to be stored

Here's a cool photo that I found on google a bit back. Seems like a good way to keep storage close to the tool. Not sure it'll apply well to your situation of moving but for general transport it could work!

I know huh? I ad a 8 drawer sortainer and got a 4 drawer and combined / mixed the drawers. The smaller parts fit good. It the larger parts. I found the box the CMS came in and put the table in their wil most of the stuff/ accessories. the sliding table rail is kinda long.
Im sure Ill come up with something

i dont do fancy, but Il come up with something.

If that simply slipped into a Sys 4 it'd be brilliant !

I had a large rolling Pelican case that I repurposed for most of the stuff. I carry the y hose, the outfeed and side table, the jigsaw plate and a few other things in there. The LA-50 fence rides on the table, sometimes I leave the TS mounted for transport. I have the BASIS router plate, but I haven't used it on site much so haven't come up with anything for it. Likely that will ride in the CMS and the TS plate will get bumped into the Pelican.

When I get some free time Im going to run to Blowes or HD. Im going to see what kind of large plastic storage boxes they have. Ill come up with something. I already did for the PGs. Well I have a idea for them.

Ill get to Blowes sometime next week.
