Tray ceiling

A tray ceiling I'm working on. It started out as a popcorn removal job, but I sold them on this idea. The framing was a little tough as its a concrete ceiling so I had to use a Hilti nail gun and glue with 1"5/8 steel stud then 3/8" drywall over that and vinyl trim to make the trays.

That looks great. 

You say it started out as a popcorn removal job.  Does that mean you used the planex?

I sure did! It had a pretty good coat of paint on it as well but it was no problem for the planex with 36g on it.

Garage above? Some of that spancrete can be hard stuff!

No it is the eighth floor penthouse in a condo so its a couple feet of concrete, that's a skylight in the middle.
