Trim gun help

Hey guys, lately I have been doing some really small exterior trim side jobs. Mainly 5/4 cedar or Windsor one. I was thinking about picking up a cordless nail gun, (paslode 16ga li-ion, or senco f16a) what do you guys think of 16 ga for exterior trim? Also I can't find SS nails for the 16 ga angled, I know they exist. Other wise I was thinking about picking up a new 15 ga, and 16 ga bostitch smart point nailer, which would be a cheaper route. What do you guys think. I currently use a jc10, grex GB, grex 23ga pinner, and a vintage bostitch 15 ga.

Pretty much the exact nail guns I use.  I sold off my cirdless nail guns years ago.  Only miss them on a rare occasion.

Exterior trim either gets 15ga or trim head screws or cortex screws and plugs.

I use both the senco Fusion trim guns. They upgraded the batteries and charger, that was the only complaint I had with the original ones. Don't leave the batteries out in extreme cold over night. Other than that I am happy with them.

I've had good luck finding odd nailgun "ammo" at http://www.nailgundepot.com/ 

Pretty much the best place I've found for nailgun screws, less than half the cost of @ fastenal.

The Smartpoint nailers are pretty slick.  I'm a hose nailer guy but man do those compressors get heavy sometimes.

I've steered clear of cordless nailers due to battery cost concerns but the Lithium batteries seem to be better at retaining liveliness.  I will comment for sure that heat cooks all batteries and the dumbest practice is to slam a hot battery on a charger, no matter what generation it is.  The Lithiums have circuits that shut them down permanently if the battery "thinks"  it is becoming damaged.

A bought a paslode 16g cordless lithium ion angled nail gun and it was garbage right out the box

Nails skipped every 4 nails , stopped working all the time , nothing fixed it, so I sold it .

I just went and bought a rolair super quite light compressor( 35lbs) . Much happier now .

Nothing is as reliable as air
