Sorry if this topic is covered elsewhere, but I couldn't find help on this topic so i'm posting.
I'm trying to cut some dados using the 1400 router and the guide stop. I can easily tighten the two bars on the router base, but can't seem to tighten them on the guides. No matter how hard I crank them down. Am I missing something? I feel like if I  try to cut my dado the polls won't hold, (on the stop side) and my cut won't be straight.

thanks
Danny

Never had a problem unless I forgot to tighten the thumb knobs.

Any chance you can post a picture of the stop (I assume you mean the edge guide).

EDIT; (I just noticed the part number listed, ignore my previous response---doh)

The rods in my rail guides hold very firmly. Insert the rods and tightening the large knob (the knob on top with Festool imprinted) locks them solid.

There is a U shaped bar that the knob draws up to the rods. They are in the leg down configuration on my guides.
