I'm looking at getting a TS55 or MFT in the near future, however, I'm not sure what to get first.  I have a Domino, Rotex and I just picked up the Kapex so I know the MFT would come in handy.  I sold my old junky circular saw though so I don't have anything right now.  Any suggestions?.  I mostly do built-ins, cabinets (small jobs, not full houses/kitchens), custom furniture.

I can't afford both right now.  I can pick up one now and the other in a couple of months.  I checked that link and it said that table was discontinued.  Why don't any of the dealers offer a 55 and MFT combo?

I think you might of answered your own question already?

I'd go for the TS 55 first along with a 75" rail and a couple of connectors then scour up the needed funds for a new MFT/3 later.

I would suggest the TS55.  If you get it, with a sheet of 2"Styrofoam, and buy/build 2 saw horses, you'll get alot more mileage.  The MFT is very useful, especially with the Domino, but frankly, I haven't found it to be as "earth-shatteringly" useful as all of the other tools.

Warning: Once you get one tool that works on the guide rail, you'll want them all :)

This is prolly the first time I have disagreed with Michael.

Don't get that.

Get the TS 55 and a pair of plastic sawhorses, coupla 2 x 4s.

and a 4 x 8 sheet of rigid foam.

Sell a few more Jobs and wait till you can afford or have a money makin need for the three.

I am a need for speed guy so lets say  I lack the sense of permanence my man Frank
Has.  but you will get the idea.

Hi,

You can't cut the wood you need to cut with the MFT. Get the saw. You can cut on something else for now. Plus you will  prolly (Per) want something larger than a standard MFT for fullsheets anyway.

Thanks Seth,

Father Bob, out side yelling for the kids to get off a da lawn,

is still ruminating about  the princely sum squandered on my elitist education.

Funny thing, when he mutters to himself, it sure sounds like,

Prolly been better off.....dang  rockem sockem kid.  ;D

No idea where you are but I'm looking to sell a ts ss + a extra rail and a mft1080 for $725.

Sacrilege I know but when the finances sort themselves out I'll be back buy festools.

PM me if you're interested

I use my MFT all the time for way more then just Festool's however the saw is well... a saw and if you need the saw get it first.

Best to buy the tools in packages if at all possible to save some money or if someone in your area is looking for a tool which is available in a package get together and buy a package so you each save some money.

After you get the saw you're gonna want a vac or at least get the non anti static hose so you can run your saw with a shop vac
