Hi all!

New member here. I recently got the TS 55, and having the "need all extra's to feel alive and well" gene, i have a problem with the empty space in the systainer. I keep thinking i don't get everything out of my saw that i could, as there's extras to be had which of course would be exactly what i needed  ;D
I searched and found a pic with the parallell guide, but not a picture with everything in the systainer without the saw so i could see what it is that fits in there.
Anyone have a TS 55 with all extras and willing to do a pic with the saw out?

Thanks in advance! (Oh, and expect more Q's as i approach the rest of my systainers with tools...)

Welcome to the Forum!

Well to be fair you depending on what you  do  you dont need anything els for the TS55.  I don't own the parallel guide but I have never come across a situation where I thought I needed to use it.

All you need with the TS 55 (again depends on the job)

Workshop: 2700 or 3000 rail and more rails but im not a workshop so dont know what is used the most.

Site:  2 x 1400 rails with connectors
        1 x  800 rail
        1 x  600 rail
2 x Guide clamps or quick clamps     they can be kept in the systainer filling it up a bit for you and a spare blade.
You dont want a 2700 or 3000 for site easily damaged and to carry around and transport.

Thats all I use for the site use

Its alot easier to cut smaller sheets of material with the 600 or 800 because using the 1400 your more likely to knock it because its sticks out alot and easily tips  unless you use the Clamps ofcorse but I hardly ever use the clamps. I normally only use the clamps to clamp the material down.

Thanks!

I have one 1400, one 800, connectors and quick clamps this far. Have the systainer with the extra's on order... Should be here this week  ;D
It seems that's all i need as of now, but it's still nice to know what's available. Will probably not be getting the paralell guide, no need for it with the rails.

Hi Henning,  Welcome to the FOG I know you from the UK workshop forum you should pick up plenty of tips here.

PS hopefully you should be getting your new rail/guide bag this week.

Hi Chris!

Thanks for the welcome. Yes, hopefully i will be getting my new bag this week. (And who knows, maybe my FS sys-2 as well  ;D )

This is useful. Is there any chance anyone has one of those links for the OF1010? There are many "compartments" for that it's dizzying.

Welcome to FOG Henning. Thank you for the thread, I was curious about this too.

No, I don't see one.  But, Seth also has ones for the OF1400 Ruter,  the PSB300 D-Handle Jigsaw and the DF500 Domino.

Steve also started a thread on the PS300 Barrel Handle Jigsaw.

So, since you have asked, I guess I'll get the camera setup and attempt to do one for the OF1010 as you have asked about.  Give me a couple of days, and if all goes well, I'll post one...

Thanks a lot Corwin. Much appreciated.

My pleasure. It's my only gripe with Festool this far, not showing what goes where in the systainers. But that's ok, it's fun trying to figure it out too.  ;D

Great write up corwin.  That was really nice of you.

One suggested change (and this goes for just about all the tools):  The manual... as worthless as it is for functional use, perhaps the first pic should show the manual going under the Systainer insert.  That's where I keep all mine (with the Festool warranty info, etc).

Thanks so much Corwin. My router came with an edge guard and it does fit in the space the extractor hood goes. I found that I could guide rods in the edge guard and it still fits nicely in that space. Is it not the same with the hood?

Anyone know what the bottom right depression is for or what goes under the collet wrench?

Thanks again Corwin.

I think the small round depressions are just extra footings for the insert itself. I put the extra collet in the bottom right thing.

This is what my router insert looks like.

As you can see the router is one of the first Festools my dad bought so its seen its fair share of use :)

The edge guide fits nicely in there, rods and all.

I wanted to show you that I think the thumb screws go into the holes where you put your collets. Give it a try. It should mean that you don't have to turn the hood skew when you put the router in, you may have to connect the rods to it though.

Also I noticed you have this "Allen key" slot that goes beneath the collet wrench. Any idea what that is for?
