So Grabbed a TS 75 which now is my one festool that isn't metric  (not sure why they didn't do it like the TS 55 whey had both Metric and Imperial on the gauge).  All the instructions say to add 5mm to account for your track although some people are just measuring down to the table your wood is sitting on and add another click or two.  Just don't want to screw up my new MFT/3 cutting to deep all the time.

Does someone make a replacement gauge for these to take them back to metric? Don't want to sit around with a Calculator trying to switch between imperial and metric all day.

Thanks

It is my understanding, from previous threads on FOG, that Festool service will replace the scale with a metric one, but you have to send the tool to them and I believe (I could be wrong) that they will charge you $70 for the service.

I’m not a fan of their Imperial stuff either - I started out buying all of their metric stuff and now I have to deal with a mix of the two.

I have an English scaled TS75 and metric Makita cordless  [scared]. I'm not an every day user so I have labels (masking tape) applied for common lumber/ply sizes. Also, I mostly work with a TSO square and use a 1/8" or 1/4" waste board under my work.

Before the metric equivalents of the nominal wood products available in the US became familiar to me I stuck some tape on the metric scale and marked where the depth pointer should be for the various thicknesses I usually cut. You can do the same in reverse.

I brought the appropriate part from Festool and replaced my TS55 scale. You don’t need to ship it to them.

Good to know.. I'll call them next week and see if I can grab the part.. you remember what you ran? seems like it's a $70 charge to send it in and have it replaced.

Festool quoted $70 to send my new TS75 in to have the Depth Adjuster swapped out for a Metric one.  Called the parts department and the part is $16.  Part # 491983 in case anyone is interested is going metric on their TS 75.
