Hi all,
Our local CL has an ad for a TS55 EQ with a bad motor (or so  they claim).  Price is $100 for it, but I wondered how hard is it to get the motor parts (I assume the stator and the armature about $160)) and to replace the actual parts?  Any one have experience with either?

"I wondered how hard is it to get the motor parts..."

That is why I answered the way I did.  Getting the parts is easy.  Call Festool.

How to replace, I haven't a clue because my ancient TS-55 works great.  Others might be able to help.

I have bought a lot of used tools and refurbished them. Most of the time it is worth the trouble.

But I have learned to stay away from tools with a broken motor. Too costly to fix and very difficult to do. Sometimes part are clamped onto the shaft of the motor and you need special tools for that. I'm not putting my time and money in such tools.
