Hello everyone!

Just a quick couple of questions about my TS55.

  • First, does the cover plate (#491750) really make that big a difference in dust collection?

Second, does it matter for dust collection what size hose is used with the TS?  The instructions say to attach a 36mm hose, but is there any added benefit to using the 50mm hose instead?  The TS seems to be a bit easier to manipulate with the 36mm hose, but if there's truly a difference in dust collection, then dealing with the bigger hose is no big deal to me.

Thank you!

Andy

I wouldn't waist money on the cover plate.  I use blue painters tape to cover the blade "window".  Cheap solution.
I think the cover plate for the bottom of the saw is for cuts close to the edge of the board.  I don't think it's needed.

I've been using two  27mm hoses connected to each other for years.  With all my tools with great dust collection.  The 36mm will improve dust collection, but the sanders take the 27mm hose, and I would need an adaptor if I used two 36mm hoses.

The 50mm hose would be to cumbersome for me for everyday usage.  And I could be wrong, but I think the 50mm is more for the cleaning sets.  I don't remember there being a 50mm tool end.  But again, I could be wrong.

I always use my 36mm hose with the TS and dust collection is perfect. I do not have the cover plate.
