TS60 Depth Adjustment Annoyance

After owning and using many many TS55's,TS75's,Mafell TC55 and KSS40 I finally bought the TS60....

Disregarding the fact that the saw's electronics went completely kaput within two weeks of using the saw  [blink] and having to be returned, after extremely light duty, I am finding the new depth adjustment extremely irritating to say the least.

It seems incredibly difficult to set without it sliding past the setting you actually want or it nearly always locking into place 1mm either side of the setting you actually want...

Is anyone else experiencing this and is my adjuster just not functioning correctly? It seems incredibly badly designed if so and very cheap compared to all the above saws I use.It also seems that the stop that the saw actually uses, the micro adjust wheel, seems to have slop in it so that when the saw actually hits the stop it will go marginally past where its set to.

Please tell me that this isn't standard behaviour for this new style of adjustment because it's actually annoying enough for me to consider getting rid of the saw as it's quite maddening

I wonder why they changed the adjuster. Seemed perfectly fine just the way it was.

Even in the offical Festool guide video you can see the selector 'wobbling around' and being difficult to set

To be honest, the new deep adjustment was one of the main reasons I switched from TSC55 to TS60. Once you get used to it, it's really an upgrade in my opinion.

I agree, the added depth of cut is precisely the reason I switched to this saw,and the ability to use it on FSK rails. The actual depth of cut is not the issue, it's the infuriating inability to set the depth quickly and precisely first time, every time, which is what I would expect at the very least

The one on the TS55 just takes a little squeeze toward the blade housing and it moves very easily. The micro adjust screw is very intuitive and uses the same tool as a blade change. It's one of those "why mess with it?" things.

I’ve noticed the same issues with my unit. Seems to skip just past the desired depth. Also the micro adjust doesn’t seem like it’s doing anything when I rotate it in either direction. I’ve spun it multiple times and haven’t seen the cursor move.

On the TS55, at least, the micro-adjust doesn't move the cursor, it moves the engagement of the body with the depth gauge during a plunge.  So, in theory, you would have to plunge the saw and hold it against the micro-adjust to watch it move.

Not sure if the TS60 is the same, though.

Yeah, the TS60 works the same way for the micro-adjust.
