I added a 3/4" diameter spot of Velcro to the dust bag and the cap so now I can stick the cap out of the way. I didn't like it dangling on the side.

It's a real simple fix and no doubt someone has done the same but I thought I'd share anyway.

Haven’t seen the Velcro trick Bob, but about 2 years ago someone posted the magnet trick.  [smile]

I’d be interested in a photo. 🙏

Ok, magnet is a good idea too. And not prone to get clogged with sawdust but I have been using the Velcro for a while now and no problem with sawdust.

Some of those dust bags are faulty as supllied by Festool, if you get one thats difficult to turn on its plastic collar its likely got part of the material stuck in between the collar that screws onto the machine and the bit that rotates with the bag.

I had one like that and eventually the bag fell off,  I then realised the fault and made sure the material didn't get stuck in there. Problem was it had already made it loose and it never held on right after that.
I bought another bag, same problem brand new.

I got the material out of the  gap between collars and that one has been fine since but its a definate fault.
