I’m in Australia (strewth), about to build a Paulk workbench. I’m going to use Peter Parfitt’s parf guide system to do the worktop.
We don’t seem to be able to get the Mark II parf guide here in Aus at the moment, so it looks like I’ll have to get it from Axminster in the UK. Thought I’d run my order thoughts past you guys to see if I’m forgetting anything useful - may as well get a few Axminster-only bits while I’m buying internationally.
So:
They’re out of stock of the parf chamfer tool, but they’re available here in Aus, as are the TSO guide rail squares, which I think will be my next purchase.
Anything else I should think about for setting up a basic cutting station on my Paulk bench? Basic hobby work, building stuff out of rescued/recycled wood, and fixing up the olde house.

So:
- UJK parf guide system MarkII
- Dogs - I’m going to assume the UJK flavours are a perfect fit for anything built with the jig, so was thinking of a couple of super dogs, and maybe a couple of 12mm and 50mm dogs. 6 in all plus the dogs that come with the jig should give me something to start with.
- Some Axminster trade quick release clamps - look the same as the festool QR’s, but nearly half the price (Link)
- parf dog rail clips
