Unable to login from iPad using Safari, works from iPod

I can't seem to login to the FOG from my iPad using Safari with iOS version 9.1.  This problem also appeared spuriously before I updated to 9.1, but now appears to be persistent.

I am able to do it with Chrome in the iPad, so it could be a Safari problem.

I am creating this message from a PC with Firefox browser.
