Years ago I bought a framed stock certificate of (then) Apple Computer, Inc. as a gift for my oldest son. A while ago I took it of his hands because he needed the cash (yeah, …).
The certificate is in my name and the last couple of years quarterly checks have come my way. The amount on each check is just a few bucks (five, six) and to cash them in at a Dutch bank costs at least six times the face value.
So, now I have more than a dozen uncashed checks (Bank of America, Atlanta) and a burning question — what can I do with them? I am willing to write them over to a charity or whatever but do not know what the proper procedure is. Your help is appreciated!
