Any help on this would be great thanks. I can see the value in doing this with plywood drawers but not sure with pine. Will this be strong enough or am I weakening the drawer where the domino cutout is. Would I be better off to just fit screws?
thx

Wood speices does not matter and thats a poor design for a drawer case... End grain on long grain glue ups are weak - it will would hold but eventually  the stress will break the glue bond on the end grain board..  I recommend you do a drawer lock or half blind dovetails...  Using the dominos will be fine as well I would at least put another one at the bottom of the drawer case...

The drawers are a test run for my workshop drawers. The single domino was to just show the connect point, drawers will all have 2 dominos in each side. Drawers dont have a lock joint but are rabbeted
thx lambeater.

I think it would be fine, but you need to orientate it slightly differently to get a mechanical advantage. If you search for domidrawers there are several examples on the FOG. Here are mine.
