I was hand sanding with a piece of Granat Hand Sanding Paper - the kind with the foam backing that comes on a tear off roll - and although I enjoyed the comfort of the sponge backing I wondered why there wasn't a way to attach them to a Festool sanding block.  Well, there is.  I don't remember seeing this mentioned before, but I could be wrong.  Let's face it - sandpaper is not as exciting as tools with cords for most of us.  Just thought I would throw this out there.

Thanks for that.  I use the pads and have the block, but never thought about combining them.

Peter, what's the part number on the block? I couldn't seem to find it.

And if you use 125mm sanding discs (RO 125 and ETS 125), Woodcraft sells the equivalent sanding block.  It appears to have been made by the same folks.

I have the block from Woodcrafters.  Needed something, was in a hurray and it was cheap so I picked it up.  Happy to report the Woodcrafters block works fine with Festool abrasives from my RO125.

You know, with the right hole punch set-up, you could extend the same process to the hand sanding blocks that have the dust collection ports built-in. Pop your abrasive on the sanding block, and then the Granat foam backed abrasive that you punched some holes into.  The RS2 sized block already has the hole punch available from Festool for using non-standard paper on a RS2. Hmmmm, ONE more thing to buy.  Thanks Peter.... [wink]    [scratch chin] [scratch chin] [scratch chin]
