Using the LR-32 for Euro hinges - what changed?

I'm usually not one to post about anything but this has me so flustered and I'm in need of help. I bought the LR-32 system and corresponding 1400 router for our small family cabinet shop with high hopes of simplicity. For the first few cabinet projects we did there was no issue until this latest one. We ran out of our stock of blum hinges (soft close ones) that we bought at our local Woodcraft store so I need just 4 more so ran to that orange box store next to us. I was surprised when I got back that the 5mm euro screws we've been using didn't fit the hinges. So I ordered blum hinges off Amazon and had the same results - euro screws didn't fit. Then I went to Woodcraft yesterday and sure enough the 5mm screws didn't fit any of the hinges they sell. The guys at Woodcraft as always were great but were equally confused as this a new issue for them.

So my couple questions:
1. What am I missing? I thought that the 5mm hole that the 32mm universal system was just that universal, except now it is not?
2. What are you doing to solve this? Are there blum or other soft-close hinges out there that still uses the 5mm euro screws? If so, can someone please share with me the part number, website, something?

Are you referring to the cabinet mounting plate that the hinge attaches to, or the cup mount for the door?  Blum has cabinet plates in both Euro screw and conventional wood screw styles they have different P/Ns.  I have never seen or used Euro screws for the door cups so I can't comment there.  A search of the Blum catalog will show the different options.

Perhaps the retail packages that often contain both the hinge and the mounting plate may be configured for conventional wood screws ?  I always buy the hinges and the plates separately from hardware suppliers and never had difficulty in getting the Euro screw plates in what ever offset I needed.

They have people that really know what they  (and you )  are talking about. I have called them three times over the last few years with good info and success each time.

I've been stuck with mounting plates that had the holes for wood screws, but the carcases came drilled for 5mm mounting screws. It's really easy to just drill out the plates with a 5mm drill bit. I suppose you could make a jig for the drill press, but I just set up a couple of stops on a board and used a drill to bore out the holes. Had a whole kitchen's worth of hinges done in well under an hour.
