VAC SYS Accessory Set Systainer

I just received my VAC SYS Accessory Set in the mail and was a bit surprised to see that is came with the older Systainer and not the T-Loc style. All my other Festool tools are in the T-Loc style. My Sys Vac Clamp is due in Tuesday, will this to be in the older style? Seems a shame to speed $1400 and then turn around and spend another $200 on T-Loc systainers.

The Vac Sys in NA only comes in the traditional Systainer. I don't think the items will fit in a T-Loc.

I got all the heads except the large round one to fit in a Sys1.  It's usually stored on the Vac Sys unit in that T-loc, which I converted to T-loc and sold the old style.  Used my CNC to make holders for the other heads.  Much more space efficient in a Sys 1 T-loc.

Sorry - I don't have the CNC files, but here's some photos that might help.  This stores the three heads in a Sys 1.  I leave the round head on the main unit, also in a T-loc systainer when the unit is stored.  This works for me as I mostly work in a shop environment.

It's essentially the same base replicated three times with some sanding as I recall and then glued to the bottom of the Systainer.  A couple of blocks are also glued in place to hold the pads in place.

I believe I drew them in Fusion 360 - simple arcs to hold the heads with some flat faces.

Rarely am I critical about Festool because I figure I didn't have to buy the tool. However, you are absolutely right in this case. It should have come in a T-Loc Systainer. If it makes sense to supply it in a systainer  at all then the excuse that it may mostly be used as a stationary tool isn't a good one. By the way, I love my VacSys, regardless of the the old style Systainer. Never sorry I bought it as it has come in handy many times.

No, but all 4 vac heads will fit into a SYS 2 T-loc.

C'mon Tyler.  Festool introduced the T-loc as a better system and many of us agreed and have been upgrading to them because we like the ease of use.  But, now Festool says the old style is OK because we 'tend' not to move it a lot?  What was the purpose of shipping it in a Systainer at all?  Where do we 'tend' to use the vacuum that shipped in a box?  I have this big Systainer orphan amongst my T-locs.  I'm not critiquing you, only the company.

The heads will fit.  The base will fit.  I got three of them in a Sys 1.  You could easily get all four in a Sys 2 or larger.

Festool just has to redo the foam so it will fit all three heads.

Also, I was able to put the VacSys base in a standard T-loc using the Festool foam and some slight trimming with an x-acto knife.  Took maybe 5 minutes to get it to fit.

Nice Job !!!!!!! I was a Cabinet installer for about 40 years. I use this thing all the time !!!! I work at Anderson Plywood now. But I see many different ways to use it on the job site !!!!!!! This is one of my favorite Festool Toy's !!!!!

  My understanding on why no T-Loc is that basically it has not been redesigned. It was originally done in a Classic Sys and was NAINA for many years. And the pump was / is also in a Classic Sys ....................... but not in the North American market (the pump that is). The whole system is still in Classic Systainers, has not been redesigned for T-Locs since inception and the pump in a Sys is NAINA. Unlike other tools that are simply placed into a Systainer the pump unit is integrated. So it is not such an easy transition from the old Sys to the new for the pump unit.
