Vac-Sys and Surfix Oh My!

So as a huge fan of the Vac-Sys system I was lucky enough to pick one up about three years ago and have never looked back.  It might be my favorite Festool?

But in a close 2nd, is Surfix.  I learned to use it at a Jory Brigham's weekend class and really appreciate how easy it is to apply and the quality of the finish.

But like the Vac-Sys, Surfix has also been discontinued.  What surprised me was for 60+ days there has been a new post on the VAC SYS DISCONTINUED thread.  And when the Surfix announcement hit (last January), there we 2 pages of comments vs 10 pages.

"Festool Surfix and Swiss Made CE Zobo drill bits discontinued"

I'm just curious is anyone missing Surfix?  If you have used the stuff in the last 24 months (the likely shelf life) can you memorialize the stuff with a +1 below so we can give it a proper send off?

Thanks,
Rich

+1

Smelled like a fry-up for a couple of weeks, but gave a beautiful durable finish. Sad to see it go.

FWIW...

Heavy Duty Specs: Store in a cool and dry place. Durable for at least 2 years when unopened. Seal broken/open containers. Pack the rest in smaller containers.

Onestep & Outdoor Specs: Store in a cool and dry place. Durable for at least 5 years when unopened. Seal broken/open containers. Pack the rest in smaller containers.

I purchased a couple of the small refills, when they phased it out. So far I still have some HD left.
Most likely I‘ll switch to Osmo when the rest is gone….

I‘m in Germany so Osmo is available widely. But I think there are always loads of options out there these days. Just hard to find something nice without spending years testing things out…

The same oil can probably be sourced elsewhere. But sad the set is discontinued. Maybe it moved too slow off the shelves. I think it wasn't very well known.

I didn't know about it. Seems like a handy tool.

Any good competing applicators to use with something like Osmo?
