On the Dutch woodworkingforum, I saw al lot of info regarding the new Festool tools introduced spring 2008.
All these tools can be seen on the Handwerk in March 2008 in Nurnberg Germany. That is probably a bit unpractical for most of you, but look at the dutch woodworkingforum . There you find 2 subjects ending with the word "gewijzigd"  (means changed) and click on the pdf links under the word "Bijlage" somewhere in the postings. Official info, pictures, prices etc!!!

Welcome on our forum and feel free to post!!

Many thanks, Bossie, for the links.

The German-language pdfs give more information than anything else I've seen.

Of particular interest:  the CMS table add-on for the MFT/3.  The add-on has two legs and I assume connects to the short side of the MFT/3.  Router and jigsaw mounting without giving up any MFT holes!  And an enlarged MFT when those tools are not mounted.

And welcome to our forum.

The CMS add-on (350 Euros) plus the mounting base (300 Euros for the TS55,
500 for the 1400) are not cheap.  The MFT3 is 500 Euros.

I guess that most CMS accessories (sliding table, misc extensions) can also be
added to raise the price and make wives to jump around :-)

OF2200.

I looked at the CMS add-on for the MFT3 and thought hmmm...  They have a router module for the CMS.

But the router module is only for the 1010.  Which kind of makes sense because the CMS table top looks pretty small.  But...

If you add the CMS module to the MFT3, you'd have a nice long infeed/outfeed table.  Which means that it could handle larger workpieces.  Which might require a larger router.  Which could be...

Nah, they wouldn't think of that.  8)

I thought I'd done well to build a system that fits into a #5 Systainer.

Yes, Festool can do amazing things with space.  Like all the additional space you'd have in your wallet after you bought the VAC-SYS complete.  ;D

Ned, Ned, Ned...

You think the Vac Sys is for suckin' on wood?!?  Didn't you see the wallet-vac accessory!?!  Look for the product name "Extraktindergreenbak".  ;D

There are two router plates, for the 1010 and the 1400.

The nice thing is you can set the table with 2 CMS add-ons,
saw and router. That''s a clever way to go deeper in your pockets :-)

Can the tools be mounted so that both face the front of the MFT, or at least both the CMS-mounted switches do?

On the Basis system, the switch is attached with two bolts to a slot on the inside of the side profile. Mounting it on another side profile is very easy, but you'll have to unscrew the side profiles to get the square nuts in the profile. The construction is the same in the CMS. See here in the ekat for details.

The CMS modules can be mounted both ways.

I will be in Holland in september on a work trip,  I gotta have that  CMS extention for the MFT 3,  I hope it fits in the overhead compartment
