Van Racking

Hi all,
I have just purchased a VW Transporter LWB and starting to plan out a racking / storage system for all my Festool systainers, extractor, CMS and Kapex just wondered if any of you have any suggestions or website site links that might help me.

If you are going to build out of sheet goods use a good light weight ply. keep that weight down to a minimum it will pay for itself.

Man FOG search engine is CRAP!    When I want to search for VAN RACKING   I dont want threads coming up with  just the word VAN or just the word RACKING   if I wanted that I would type in just them words!

Just because you had some difficulties,  it doesn't mean that the software or search function is "crap."

Go spend less than 7 minutes watching this tutorial and you will be able to search more effectively:  How to use the search function

Like most search engines.. if you want a specific phrase put it in quotes, e.g. "van racking"... often you want a choice (e.g. if something is called by similar names)

Thanks for that, I enjoyed the tutorial.
But to be fair, searching for "van racking" only brought up one of the threads JMB found. I understand his frustration. Search engines, however sophisticated (and lets be honest it is amazing how much easier it is to find stuff now - when I was a student microfilm was still considered pretty cutting edge) all have their limitations. As I am regularly searching in both french and english, I try to use a wide range of synonyms for things, but as I mentioned in a thread about Fein blades that both JMB and I have been following, sometimes finding something can take a lot of time and patience.
I would like a SIRI type search engine that can find exactly what I want at the drop of a hat. Won't be long I'm sure.

You can use Google to search any site by adding site:domainname.com after your serach query in Google.

So for this particular instance you would type:  +van +racking site:festoolownersgroup.com

The + signs before a word mean that it must appear in the results so van and racking must appear somewhere.

+van -racking will return all results with van in and exclude any where racking appears which can be a handy way to filter out a lot of crap when you are searching.

"van racking" is a phrase match and will return different results.

Always leave out the http://www when using the site: command and if words absolutely must appear in the results precede them with a plus. You can search any site this way including ones that don't have a search function.
