This thing has the capacity to move/sort/store sheet goods up to 61" x 145" and as narrow as the 30" width of Corain, though most of the spaces are for the typical 4' x 8'.
It has measuring lasers to know the size of the sheet and a scale to weigh them as it stores them in it's inventory. It uses the weight to help avoid mistakes. If something does not weigh what is expected, it will pause and ask for "operator intervention".
It also has this interesting ability to lift on one corner, for flexible materials, like 1/4" MDF. They have a tendency to stick together when lifted straight up. Not only does this confuse things because of the weight, but the second one can fall off at any moment. That definitely stops the works. The corner lifting feature is something that has to be checked upon intake, but it always knows where those pieces are located and only applies the technique when needed.
I happened to catch it loading in an entire stack of 1/4" white-coated MDF, that are used for cabinet backs. Stuff like this is usually done at the end of the day, because it takes quite a while, but can be left unattended.
