Here's my video review of the Festool Rotex RO-125 sander.  Sure, I go over the button n such.  Actually, there's a bored second in there where I wonder what else to point out; it's a sander!  The last half is a real-time clip of me sanding a rough piece of Purpleheart.  You've seen the demos from Festool, this is me taking it from P80 through P180 and it looks great.  The demo includes some FAQ info, too.

I will be reviewing the RO-150 then making another video that compares the two so it's easier for people to find the comparison rather than watching me drone on and on and... :)

Review of Festool RO-125 Rotex Sander

Paul thanks for another great tip.

This time, I picked up on your suggestion oabout cleaning stationaty tools surfaces using Festool's Platin 2 paper.  I started with my General 650 table saw and took some pictures.

Before: [attachthumb=#1]

After spraying WD 40, waiting 30 minutes, then polishiong for 3 minutes with a WD-40 impregtnated much used platin 400 pad: [attachthumb=#2]

Note that this pretty well wrecked the pad, biut I was just about to toss it anyway before using it for this task.

After 1 more minute with a newer platin 400 pad: [attachthumb=#3]

After about 45 seconds each with platin 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 pads: [attachthumb=#4]

I used my Rotex 150 in gear driven mode for these tasks.

With the excerption of the first P400 pad, I saved all these pads and will use them just to clean stationary tools surfaces.  Now on to my jointer, planer, and bandsaw ...

Excellent, Frank... it worked well for me, too.  First time is a chore but I've used the 2000 and 4000 pads to do any touch up later and you can even do them by hand if you get a discolored spot from sweat or something.  On my bandsaw, it was night and day (er, brassy mill marks to mirror).

You'll smell of WD-40 for a week after doing all those surfaces  [scared]

Wow Frank, thanks for putting those pictures up.  I linked to this thread on the product page of the site.  That's some great info.
