Hi Everyone
Here in the UK many cabinet makers, carpenters and hobbyists know the name Peter Sefton. He has been prominent in the woodworking magazines writing informative articles about woodworking techniques and tackling projects. Some of you may remember that there was a FOG thread where I was trying to find "T" track to fit a Festool lever clamp - and I was contacted by someone who told me that Incra track was available from Peter's shop which is run for both his students and customers on the www.
After a few exchanged emails I was invited to visit the Peter's furniture school and went there yesterday.
Courses are run for every type of woodworker. I met young chaps doing a 9 month course who were destined to work in the industry. Shorter courses of 2-5 days are run to cover a multitude of subjects including tool sharpening and making perfect dovetail joints (and I am not talking about efforts like mine with a Leigh jig !). All sorts of people from 16 to 75 years old attend these short courses and they come from a multitude of backgrounds.
The school sits in the lee of the Malvern hills and I thoroughly enjoyed my short visit. I came away feeling really pleased to have met such an inspiring and delightful man. I was so impressed that I thought that I would create this thread. I am going to encourage him to join the FOG - I checked, he does have a Domino.
I have found a short intro video about him - far better than any of my efforts.
