Is there a new version of the Voyager drill press coming out?  Why is it listed as "Pre Order" on most websites?  If it is a newer version does anyone know what changes were made?

Thansk,
Trevin

have you asked the dealer who is advertising "pre-order" ?

Haven’t seen any sign of a new model. Just the regular Voyager and the more recent Vulcan (heavier duty for metal working).

Thanks Guys.

I have sent an email to Teknatool but have not answered yet.  I was just confused as retailers have it listed as a "Pre Order" due to ship on 2/28.

Thanks,
Trevin

When I bought their Nova DVR lathe and also when I bought their Comet mini-lathe a few years later it was the same story. Both times I was told it was because they were waiting on a shipment to arrive and they had zero stock here in the States.

It is just terminology. It just means the item is not in stock & that you can order it for shipment when it is back in stock. I have seen dealers have something marked back-order & not allow orders on that item. Some dealers just use out of stock & allow you to place the order.

Some dealers do not show any stock status, allowing you to place the order & charging your credit card, only to find out many days or weeks later that they never had the item in stock.

That's an odd way of saying "back ordered".  Never seen that before but you could be right.

It’s tough trying to source the Voyager in the UK, I also dropped Teknatool a mail but, no reply?

I have made some progress though, with one dealer informing me, there might just be one or two available around June.
I need a decent drill press, I’ve currently returned two JET JDP-15’s because of severe runout.
Apart from some old Fobco, Meddings or Startrite “proper” drill presses, decent moderns ones seem very much a lottery?
