Hi Victor, Shane & Seth -
I've been lurking and learning and haven't bought yet. Managed a detour to a dealer this weekend, which would otherwise be an 80-mile round trip. I'm a DIY seeking to replace a very (very) dead 14.4V Porter Cable and even though I'd survive just fine on consumer tools, I'd like something less disposable and also like the electronic clutch (20 years ago wondered why that cluthes weren't current monitors and searched patents back then). While I at first thought I'd like a C-series drill, I observed that it took less to hold onto the T-series type, since the weight of the drill rests onto the back of your hand even with a loose grip. Also I like having my hand closer to the drill point for precision. The size needed is a grey area... Thinking that my old 4.4lb drill was powerful enough and the T15 is a pound+ lighter, so right now leaning towards a T15. Someday I'd like a CXS... and wonder if by then the CXS will be revised to include a brushless motor.
I'm moving into another house and have two projects at the onset. I'll (1) build an in-law kitchen and (2) be driving oodles of structural screws to repair a towering mega-deck.... two opposite ends of the spectrum. For any big screws I'll pick up an impact driver. I'm unsure what impact driver to get, but am steering away from the Festool combo one in favor of a dedicated powerful driver... maybe Makita, maybe Hilti?
