I like the look of that.
This might become a reality!  I can remember years ago seeing the VW Amorak as a concept car, obviously they calmed it down a bit before it went into production but it didn't take that long to go from concept to reality.
  I think on this though the TA tyres don't realy suit it. In my opion it might look better with low profiles.

Early VW transporters had the fold-down sides, but I don't think Ford did that.

That's a pretty nice looking vehicle however they should have enclosed the back so the green or red doesn't get wet when it rains. Also, I couldn't tell but I wander if a full sheet of ply would fit in the back. I just bought my Passat TDI and I absolutely love that vehicle. I can also fit all my sustainers in the trunk along with my vacuum and the rest in the back seat. What can I  say it must be something about German engineering I like.

Peter VW have always done a "crew cab" as we call them here. I remember when I was still at school in the eighties my older brother bought a brand new crew can version.

There's a T6 van coming out later this year as far as I know. Would love one but the prices have crept up over the years. My last one was £10,500 and my current one was £16,000 back in 2009.

You guys get your vehicles so cheap, my friends boys are at university out in Arizona if I remember rightly. They bought the boys a new Ford truck huge great thing and it cost the same as you'd get a tiny Ford focus here lol

I had forgotten all about the t6. My t5 is an 09 pre face lift a few people I know have the newer facelift ones. The T6 doesn't look that much different to the facelift t5 but it's got a few nice bits on the interior.

OK.  I screwed up with my memories.  I was only a couple of years old.  [big grin]  But it is still interesting that the concepts from back then are coming forward again.

I have been waiting for what I call the "Euro Van Influence" to come here and take hold.  Hope that VW and others come with products to add to what is available here.

But in the meantime I will drive my huge Ford pickup and tow my trailers.....

Yes the Corvair was air cooled, I owned a red Corvair Monza Spyder convertible with a factory turbo and a 4 speed tranny. Sweeeet

The Corvair used a flat 6 cylinder boxer motor fabricated from mainly aluminum. Just a larger version of a VW motor really. If you look at the picture of the Rampside that I posted, the engine is located in the rear of the vehicle underneath that raised platform at the back of the bed. That's the reason the entire floor of the Rampside is not at the same level.
