As some may have noticed yesterday, the FOG now has an additional Moderator = Crazyraceguy. I held back making an announcement in case Festool had one planned, but I suspect the holiday vacation schedules came into play.

Following Seth's decision to set away, Festool sent out feelers to a couple of suggestions and I was notified mid-December of their decision. I did have a wonderful conversation Crazyraceguy after I received the notification, probably keeping him on phone WAY to long, learning much about his very interesting past, and I hope you will join me in congratulating him in his new role.

Much appreciated you're willing to put in the time and effort CRG! Luckily this is a very civilised forum, but sometimes it is good to have people who draw a line.

I'll start by saying THANK YOU, CRG!
stepping up to join veteran Peter Halle goes a long way to ensure the continued the viability of the FOG as a useful resource for woodworkers using the appraoch embodied by the line of FESTOOL powertools - and beyond.

CRG's career, retired from a professional career in a serious commercial millwork operation and a long time frequent poster on the FOG makes him uniquely suited to this task. Feels like a Christmas present just unpacked for New Years 2026.

and best personal wishes in your new self-assigned responsibility!

Hans and the folks at TSO

Thank you CRG. I have done that job on some of the marine aquarium forums I used to be very active on. The resource can’t exist without folks like you!

Having ‘worked’ as a moderator of a graphic desgn forum a quarter of a century ago, I can appreciate the commitment it takes to take up this job. So: good for you, Crazy Guy (a most apt handle,).

Welcome to CRG! Thank you both for the help you convey in not only keeping the forum running with grace and professionalism, but also sharing your tips and experiences. This remains one of the best forums for woodworking on the web!

Thank you Hans, that means a lot, coming from you.

Thanks Muttley, I have done the same. I was more uniquely qualified than anyone could have known. I was also a moderator on an unrelated topic/forum. I'm still a member there, but just didn't have the time to dedicate to it, so I let someone else get a chance. I was there for over 10 years and my interests moved much more this direction. The actual database is still there, but a lot of the members have moved more toward social media.
Oddly enough, I used to be into aquariums too. Back in the early 80s, I had a friend who worked in a pet store. He would get me small African Chyclids and Synodontis catfish, for a really good price and I would grow them up to much better selling sizes. It wasn't highly profitable or anything, but worth the time, for a hobby. Big tanks and frequent water changes.

Wow Neil, you are way to kind.
Routers and saws are NEVER getting lights now. ;)
You guys pay way more attention to my ramblings that I ever knew. It's a little scary ;)
I certainly don't have influence over that.

CRG gets to buy drinks for all FOGgers tonight?
Congrats are in order.
Thank you very much, but that's pretty difficult from this far away. I would definitely do it in person though.
