Wendlingen? just curious...

I just upgraded from an ATF 55 to a TS 55.
On all of my previous Festools, there was printed on the nameplate, 'Wendlingen', which I assumed was the town in Germany where the tools were manufactured and/or assembled.

My new TS55 does not say 'Wendlingen', I wonder why? The label on the blade shroud says 'Made in Germany', just like before.
Could it be Festool has added another German factory to meet increased demand?

Not an issue at all, just curious...

Our headquarters is in Wendlingen.  The factory is actually in Neidlingen, about 20-30 kilometers away.  The TS is made there.

Martin,

Thank you for clarifying that, and what strikes me most as a Long Islander, is the fact that an industrial facility and clean, attractive residences can be found close together and apparently coexisting quite well. To find that on Long Island (New York), you would need a full tank of gas and pack a lunch.
I've only been to Wurzburg and Rieden/E?leben area in Germany, but it was wonderful...great quality of life.

Thanks,
Pete
